Mothers' Day

1. The youth were in charge of the service today, and they did a "dramatic reading." My oldest had the line, "Because I said so, that's why!" It was in response to the kind of logic she had been taught by her mother. She said that she knew she could do the line well since she heard it so often from me. Another line was about the kind of justice we learn from our mothers, and that line resonated with me because I heard it so much from my mom: "I hope that when you grow up you have a child that is just like you!" Happy Mothers' Day, Mom!
   
   
2. "Lay Up Your Treasures in Heaven" by Choplin for the choir anthem, sang by the youth choir.
   
   
3. "Toccata in F Major" by Buxtehude for the organ voluntary.
